A good stretch for your quadriceps comes from resting on your knees and hands and sinking back onto your haunches. And to strengthen your gluteus muscles, lie on your back and arch your groin upward.

Pulling against a rubber band is a good way to gently exercise your hamstrings, gluteus and abductor muscles.

The stair climb and descend exercises proved the most difficult for me, since my right leg strength had withered before and since the operation.

I needed to stretch my abductor muscle and IT band, and leaning against a table or shelf proved a good way to do it. These illustrations also show a hamstring stretch and abductor lift.
